Urinary stone disease, commonly known as kidney stones, is a condition where hard deposits form in the urinary tract. These deposits can vary in size and can be made up of different minerals and salts found in urine.
Urologic oncology refers to the field of medicine that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of cancers that affect the urinary system in both women and men and reproductive organs in men. These cancers can include those of the kidneys, prostate, bladder, testicles, and penis.
Benign prostatic hyperplasia, commonly known as BPH, is a non-cancerous condition that can affect the prostate gland in men. The prostate is a small gland located below the bladder. It surrounds the urethra, which is the tube that carries urine from the bladder out of the body.
In men with BPH, the prostate gland gradually grows larger over time, due to an overgrowth of normal prostate cells. As the prostate gets bigger, it can squeeze the urethra, leading to various urinary problems.
Voiding dysfunction refers to difficulties or abnormalities in the process of urinating. This can manifest in various ways for males and females.
Urinary incontinence is a condition where a person is not always able to control when they need to urinate. As a result, they may suffer leaks.
Erectile dysfunction, also known as impotence, is a condition that affects a man’s ability to achieve or maintain an erection firm enough for sexual activity.
