Vasectomy

Vasectomy is a permanent sterilization procedure that we perform at our outpatient surgery center.

Treatment

Your procedure can be performed under general anesthesia or under conscious sedation using nitrous gas. The procedure takes 15-30 minutes and is minimally invasive in order to minimize pain and expedite recovery to get you back to your daily activities faster.

What should I expect after my vasectomy?
It is important to rest for the first 48 hours after the procedure and apply ice on the incision twice a day for 20 minutes at a time. Wearing underwear with good support, such as compression shorts, is important to decrease swelling and therefore pain. It is important to ease back into your regular activities slowly after your 48 hours of rest. It is normal to have some soreness for several weeks and your provider may give you medication to help alleviate this.

How will I know the procedure has worked?
You will be given a home test kit with easy to follow instructions which will make your process stress free.
